Coastal Cleanup Day on 9/24/23

Hi Everyone,

Just a friendly reminder about the troop’s community service activity on Saturday at Coastal Cleanup Day from 9 am to noon.

The event will take place right here in Moorpark (you don’t have to drive to the coast to participate) at Villa Campesino Park, located at 4704 Leta Yancy Road..

The City of Moorpark will be there to help organize and will provide:

  • Trash Bags
  • Disposable gloves
  • Water

Participants will need:

  • A signed waiver
  • All scouts (and anyone under 18) will need to have a parent or guardian to be present.

They are also invited to bring their own:

  • Your own gloves, if you have them
  • Grabbers
  • Reusable water bottle (for drinking)
  • Also recommended:  Comfortable shoes, sunblock and a hat

The event starts at 9 am, but participants are can participate in some or all of it, depending on what fits your schedule.  The Moorpark public works team plans to weigh all the trash and take a group photo at the end of the day, so they encourage everyone to stay until the end.

Parking at Villa Campesino Park is somewhat limited, but a good alternative is to park at the back end of Arroyo Vista park and walk the bridge across the wash.
