Whitewater Rafting Aug 9-11

The camping and rafting will be done in Kernville, which is near Lake Isabella (northeast of Bakersfield) – about a 3 hour drive from Moorpark.  Plan on driving up Friday afternoon, camping Friday night, rafting all day Saturday, camping again Saturday night and returning home Sunday.

The rafting will be guided by Sierra South.  It will start at 9 am on August 10 and will last all day.  Scouts will have the opportunity to earn the whitewater merit badge that day as part of the adventure (the rafting company can sign off on merit badges).  Lunch will be provided on the river.  Cost of the rafting is $170 per person, so I expect the all-in costs of the trip with camping to be just a little bit higher than that.  If you’d like to know more about the whitewater rafting portion of the trip, please take a look at this link:  https://www.sierrasouth.com/rafting/full-day-merit-badge-rafting/
